Rogues! There's one week left to back Nibblemancy!

Greetings Death Dealers!

I hope you're having a lot of fun with your Death Dealing Rogues! This update is to let you know that there's just one week left to back my latest 5E subclass book: NIBBLEMANCY

Like my other 5E zines, it includes new spells, new monsters, and new magic items!

As you can tell from the name and art, it's a subclass for cooking and baking wizards but there are two features which make it even more interesting to non-wizards...

  • Nibblemancers use their Constitution as their spellcasting ability - and it only requires a 13 Constitution to multi-class into Nibblemancy. Without the Intelligence requirement, this opens up magical multi-classing to many more characters.
  • And there are Nibblemancy Recipes just for multi-classing characters. For instance, a rogue who takes a one-level dip into Nibblemancy learns the Musical Fruit Burrito Recipe. Once consumed, for the next hour, you get the one-time use of the Second Wind ability (On your turn, you can use a bonus action to regain hit points equal to 1d10 + your rogue level).

Each multi-classing combination will get a unique recipe (and there's a catch-all recipe to accommodate home-brewed classes and those not included in the SRD (looking at you, Artificers).

And as part of this campaign, all my previous books and the Death Dealing Deck of Cards are available as add-ons.

I hope you check it out Nibblemancy and consider backing it!

Thank you again for your amazing support!

A print-at-home box for the Death Dealing card decks
about 1 year ago – Wed, Dec 13, 2023 at 02:39:27 PM

Hello, rogues!

I'd heard from a few backers saying that they wish the cards had a box. I feel the same way!

I mentioned this during a recent livestream on Twitch.  During the stream, I talked about how, when I was researching vendors for the cards, all the price quotes I received for boxes would have made the decks way too expensive. Now, there are plastic card deck boxes on Amazon which showcase the card art but you have to buy five. :(

And then backer Marcos made a suggestion - why not make a paper box that we can print at home?

I love that Idea so here it is...

This image is a web-friendly graphic. Click the image or the link below for the PDF

Here's the link: death-dealing-card-box.pdf

It can be printed on a 8.5x11 sheet of paper (thick paper or card stock works best) and requires cutting, folding, and a little glue or double-sided tape. You cut the solid lines and fold the dotted lines.  If you're a crafter with one of those Cricut cutters or a laser cutter like a Glowforge Aura, this will be a snap.

My first design didn't work but the second one turned out great!

Please be careful with sharp objects!
I very lightly scored the folds of the box with an Xacto knife so they would fold cleanly.

Here's that link to download the PDF.

Big thanks to everyone who has supported my new Meta Domain cleric campaign!  The response has been amazing!

Thank you again!

Steve's latest Kickstarter – Meta Domain – launches!
about 1 year ago – Thu, Dec 07, 2023 at 12:11:22 PM

I wanted to let everyone know that my latest 5E Kickstarter The Prayer's Handbook: The Meta Domain Cleric has launched!

These are clerics who think this all might be a game, and they learn their player's name at level 8! You can check out all the details and pledge here: prayershandbook.com

I'm super happy with how it's coming together. Here's an illustration of the fearsome Grognard!

Stretch-goal stickers! A fix and free shipping!
about 1 year ago – Wed, Nov 15, 2023 at 11:01:48 AM

An update just for backers with physical rewards...

I've heard from a couple of people (Thanks Michael and Nick!) that I screwed up and I may not have included the extra Sentient Flagon sticker in with everyone's loot. (This bonus sticker was the last unlocked stretch goal.)

There's no way to know which orders didn't get the sticker so I cooked up a solution: every backer of physical rewards can get a sticker from my web shop with free shipping. And if you prefer a different sticker than the Sentient Flagon, you can choose from any of the five.

Your choice of the Ace of Spades, My Prancing Pony, the cast of The Middle Age, the Sentient Flagon, or the new "Prayers Handbook" from the upcoming Kickstarter.

Here's how you do it...

You'll get one free sticker of your choice and free shipping which - as a bonus - will apply to EVERYTHING in your cart! So if you wanted to get more copies of any my books, graphic novels, minis, or card decks, now's the time! (International backers will still have to worry about their own local duties/tariffs - and if you're in a country which my web shop doesn't support, reach out to me at [email protected] and we'll sort it out!)

This seemed like the best way to get your sticker to you and to make sure I have your current shipping address. And this also lets me give you a perk to make up for my screw-up! (And it was my screw-up. I packed every order myself.)

Thank you again for your amazing support!

And extra thanks to the nearly 250 people who have signed up to be notified when Meta Domain goes live! prayershandbook.com

All the physical loot has shipped! And another art sneak peek...
about 1 year ago – Thu, Nov 09, 2023 at 04:36:40 PM

I'm thrilled to report that the last of the physical rewards have now shipped!

The last packages on their way to the post office!
The last packages on their way to the post office!

It took about a month from the time the card decks arrived to get the last 200+ packages out the door (a pretty good clip IMO given I was on the road for six days for Gamehole Con and then had to deal with flooding from a burst water pipe).

Thanks to everyone who let me know their books and card decks arrived!

The last things I have to do...

The final items on my to-do list include wrapping up the Death Dealing character sheet PDFs and updating the digital edition of Death Dealing with a couple of tweaks. Look for another Kickstarter post with those in the next week or so!

Work on the Meta Domain continues!

I just finished the piece below for the next book. This is an example of a Meta Domain cleric's magic item "The Prayer's Handbook." This turned out better than I hoped!

More than 230 people have signed up to be notified when the Meta Domain goes live. You can sign up here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/steveconley/meta-domain

And here's the initial sketch of a creature from Meta Domain... the fearsome Grognard!

Thank you all again for your amazing support! I hope you love Death Dealing!
